Are you sleepy and numb?

Ephesians 5:14
That is why God says in the scriptures, "Awake, O sleeper, and rise up from the dead; and Christ shall give you light."

Have you ever had your foot or leg fall asleep and it becomes numb because you have kept it bent out of shape in some way?  You don't really become aware that the blood stopped flowing  through it until you straighten it back out again. Or sometimes you notice that it became numb and your kind of scared to straighten it out because you know that it will  hurt for a while as you wait for the blood to circulate back through it again.

Your life without Christ's blood flowing through you is the same. You may be someone who has had Christ at one time or another in your life but now you are bent in the wrong direction and you are numb to feeling his Spirit and his blood cover you in his love. It is only His blood that can save you from death as you continue to walk in numbness to his word. While you are numb you are unable to feel how dead you really are. It is not until you choose to allow Christ Jesus to straighten your life out and let his blood flow through your spirit to heal you and save you that you are able to feel his presence again.

After you choose to willfully allow him to straighten out your life Jesus' Spirit will begin to flow through you and you may experience some pain as you come to realize that you have to let go of  certain parts of your past. But as you let go of them you also start to feel a joy that comes from knowing and walking in the right direction. You can not continue to purposefully walk a crooked, sin filled life because that will stop the flow of God's blessing. So upon deciding to let Christ blood flow into your life and save you, you also must make some decisions that will keep you going forward on the straight and narrow road that leads to life.

Maybe your someone who has never met Christ and you have no idea what it feels like to have the blood of the Son of God flow through you. You may be living everyday numb to the power that's in the blood of Gods only son. If your leg or foot is numb it will cause you to limp until the blood flow returns. If your hand is numb you will not be able to use it handle things because you can't feel it enough  to get a grip on anything .

Your life without Christ is the same way. If you are numb to him and his power you will not be able to handle the things that life throws your way. You will limp your way through situations hoping without hope that you can do this on your own. But you can't and you just don't know it because you are used to fighting your way through life alone with only yourself to support you. But life does not have to be that awful. You can ask Jesus to come into your life and help you to get through troubled times.

Without the blood of Christ your eyes are blind to all that life has to offer you. If you are walking this earth on your own so called power you are denying yourself the greatest joy that is available to mankind and that is the joy of knowing that you don't have to walk alone or walk in defeat if you have Jesus Christ to light your path with his words of life. You can walk this life seeing more options then you ever thought possible if only you will allow the Son of God to flow through you and renew your old life for a new one.

When you give your life to Christ you are choosing to give up part of your life that was numb for a life that is flowing with blessing.
