Prepare your heart for this thought:
So you say you want more out of life?
Proverbs 11:24-25
It is possible to
give away and become richer! It is also possible
to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes,
the generous man shall be rich! By watering
others, he waters himself.
Water is life giving. Nothing can live
without it. A plant is placed in dirt but without water it
will not grow. You can keep adding more and more soil but it
won't do anything to help the plant grow.
It's the same with money. You can keep
adding more and more to your pocket but it won't grow if you
don't invest it. If you invest your money in people you will
see it grow. It's funny how God makes things work. I think
God does have a sense of humor. To God money is only a piece
of paper with a number on it. It's nothing more then that to
God. He allowed us the capacity to invent money and some how
the human race has grown up calling it "the almighty dollar"
totally forgetting about the Almighty God. God allows
us to have money or lack of it, to see how we react when he
steps in and asks us to do something with what we have.
It makes no difference if you are rich or
poor, God wants to know if you will do what he ask you to
do. I like how Gods word say that by being generous you
shall be rich, that by watering others you get watered. When
is the last time you went outside to water your flowers or
even the simple task of watering a house plant and you were
able to do it without getting any water on anything else
except the plant? Chances are you ended up spilling some on
yourself or on the table surrounding the plant.
God's point is this......That it is
impossible to pour out blessings on others without getting
any blessing on yourself. The world does not understand
this!
God is the one who created everything, and
God created a law that makes generosity a growing gift. It's
impossible to give without being blessed because that's the
way God made it to be. And when God says rich............
don't think like the world thinks and turn your thoughts
straight toward money.
Remember.... its only a piece of paper
with a number on it. When God says rich he means blessings
far beyond paper, he means unexplainable joy, outstanding
peace, and an out of this world relationship with him. The
greatest joy and blessing you could ever possibly receive is
the gift of hearing him share his words with you. Now that's
priceless!
