For this thought: Ephesians 6:10-19 Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, and against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. Prepare Your Heart for this Thought: Do you like accessories? As a woman I tend to enjoy having a variety of accessories to go with any occasion. I like how the word of God gives us accessories to successful spiritual living.  God wants you to wear his spiritual bling. God wants you to stand out and shine for him. Here is a list of your FREE accessories: 1.)           God has a belt for you that will keep you from tripping, it’s called the "Belt of Truth" and as long as you wear HIS belt of truth you will not trip over the lies of the devil. 2.) You have been given a "Breastplate of Righteousness" and we are told to wear it in place. This means that in order for your breastplate to properly do its job you must wear it as God intended it to be worn. We are to cover ourselves with HIS Righteousness, not our own. The righteous shield he gives us is covered with the blood of his son Jesus Christ and that bloody shield covers our sinful hearts and saves us from hell. 3.) God has fitted your feet with "Shoes of Readiness" that come from the gospel of peace. Notice it says "THE" gospel of peace, not "A" gospel of peace. Don’t let the world sell you a lie; don’t be fooled into buying a cheap knock off of the real thing.  True peace only comes from the True and living God. Only the God of heaven and earth who made you can give you perfect peace for everyday.  With Gods peace you will be able to walk through any situation. He has prepared a path for you and it is paved with his peaceful unending love and forgiveness.  4.) In addition to all these accessories be sure to take up the "Shield of faith" which is used to extinguish the flaming arrows of your enemy the devil. This accessory is quite different then the breastplate. The breastplate is put on and fastened in place. We don’t have to carry our own righteousness because Jesus Christ is securely fastened around our hearts. BUT….the Shield of faith is something that we are responsible to pick up and carry.  We must choose to use our faith to deflect and extinguish the flaming lies of the devil. Our salvation is intact because we are covered in the righteousness of Christ, but our faith will always come under attack. Your enemy the devil will try many different tactics to get you to lay down your faith for a lie, but as long as you keep your faith up you will not get burned by the lies. 5.) Your next two accessories are to be used in combination with each other.  God has given you the "Helmet of Salvation" and the "Sword of the Spirit"(which is the word of God) and he tells you to take them and pray in the Spirit using his words on all occasions with all different kinds of prayers and request.  A sword is a serious weapon and you need a serious helmet if you are going to be wielding a serious sword. Remembering your salvation keeps you from loosing your mind during battle because as long as you keep focused on the end result you can continue to find a reason to keep on fighting the good fight. Once you become a child of the living God you become an enemy to the devil. Once you are Gods child you are referred to as "the head and not the tail" and God always protects his children.  6.) The last accessory is a "chain" given only to those who have become imprisoned for being an ambassador for Christ. But the word of God cannot be chained. (2 Timothy 2:9 and because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.) There are those who are currently chained in prisons around the world for preaching the gospel of truth but the chains have not stopped them from speaking and believing. (Go to http://www.persecution.com and read stories of these inspiring people) But Gods word will always accomplish all that he has intended. God will do all that he had planned to do in heaven and on earth. (Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.) What a glorious day it is when we realize that no weapon formed against us will succeed. (Isaiah 54:17"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD.) God has equipped us with everything we need to live the life he created us to live. If we clothe ourselves with HIS words he will make sure that we get where we are going, and along the way he will plant blessings of goodness for us to enjoy as a reward for our faithfulness to him.
